Luxury line Silversea on Monday announced plans for another globe-circling voyage in 2013.

The six-ship company says its 382-passenger Silver Whisper will set sail from Los Angeles on Jan. 5, 2013 on a 115-day sailing that will take it from the South Pacific to Asia to Africa to the Caribbean before a return to the USA.

Crossing the equator four times, the World Cruise itinerary will follow the tropical belt to 52 destinations in 28 countries with overnight stays in several ports including Hong Kong; Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; and Bangkok.

Other stops include Moorea and Tahiti in French Polynesia; Rarotonga in the Cook Islands; and five calls in New Zealand including Auckland, Wellington and Akaroa. The ship also will visit Port Arthur and Hobart in Tasmania; and several locations in Australia. Stops in Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and India also are on the schedule, and in Africa the Whisper will visit Madagascar, Mozambique, South Africa, Namibia and Ghana, among other destinations (a full list of calls is online at Silversea’s website).

The trip concludes with calls in Barbados, Dominica and St. Thomas, ending on May 1, 2013 in Ft. Lauderdale.

Fares for the voyage will be announced in the coming weeks, the line says. Members of Silversea’s Venetian Society loyalty club can begin reserving spots on the trip this week, but it is not yet open for booking by the general public.

Would-be globetrotters also can add on a 16-day extension at the start of the trip from Ft. Lauderdale to Los Angeles, from Dec. 20, 2012 to Jan. 5, 2013, that turns the globe-circling Los Angeles-to-Ft. Lauderdale World Cruise into a true circumnavigation (Ft. Lauderdale to Ft. Lauderdale). A three-day, post-cruise extension from Ft. Lauderdale to New York also is available.

Silversea says customers who book the full World Cruise will receive complimentary airline flights to reach the ship or an air credit; transfers to the ship; a shipboard credit; an invitation to a gala Bon Voyage reception, dinner and overnight at the Peninsula Beverly Hills in Los Angeles before the voyage; and free laundry service while onboard.
