Celebrity Cruises raises price of dining at specialty restaurants…

Posted on 10 August 2011

The surcharge for dining at Celebrity’s Qsine restaurants is increasing from $30 to $40.

Celebrity Cruises will raise the cover charge at several of its popular alternative dining venues by $5 to $10, beginning Sept. 1, the cruise line said in a statement.

For the fancy French-inspired Murano restaurants on the line’s four Solstice-class ships, including the new Celebrity Silhouette, and on the Celebrity Century, the fee is rising from $35 to $40 per person. That same increase applies to the ocean liner-themed specialty restaurants found on four ships, including the RMS Olympic restaurant on Celebrity Millennium.

The surcharge for dining at the line’s quirky, food-as-theater Qsine restaurants, where menus are on iPads, is increasing from $30 to $40. The restaurants are on the Celebrity Eclipse and Silhouette.

Celebrity is also increasing the cover charge at its brand new Lawn Club Grill, which debuted with the Silhouette last month, from $30 to $40. The unusual outdoor dining venue lets passengers grill their own meats, with the assistance of expert chefs.

The line said any pre-booked dining reservations made before Sept. 1 would remain at the current rates. The surcharges for dining at the line’s other specialty venues are unchanged
