TRAVEL TO EUROPE CONTINUES SLIDE…

Overall trans-Atlantic travel to Europe continued to decline in November for the 13th consecutive month, according to a monthly report by Donald N. Martin & Co. on behalf of the European Travel Commission. Leading air carriers reported an average decline of 3.2% with capacity down an average 6.1%, and the average load factor at 79.6%. Delta slashed capacity by 21.6%, but remained the leader in US.-Europe traffic. Continental reduced capacity by 11.3%, while overall U.S. domestic capacity is down 6.9% for the year.
