British Air and Iberia to merge…

Oneworld alliance partners British Airways and Spanish airline Iberia have announced  they will merge in a $7 billion all-stock deal. The new merged carrier will be able to compete with larger rivals such as Air France-KLM and Lufthansa. Both carriers agreed to a joint venture with American Airlines and are asking for anti-trust immunity from the U.S. and European governments.
