AMR FLIGHT ATTENDANTS UNION TAKES FIRST STEP TOWARD STRIKE…

Posted on 17 March 2010

The Association of Professional Flight Attendants asked the National Mediation Board to release it from negotiations with American Airlines. After a 10-day comment period, the board will decide whether talks should continue; it could also offer binding arbitration. If either party rejects arbitration, a 30-day cooling off period would begin. After 30 days, the union may strike or the airline may lock out workers.
