Airlines roll back fare hike…

Posted on 28 October 2009

Last week’s domestic U.S. airfare hike attempt of $10 round-trip has become the fifth successful increase of 2009, all since June. However, on Saturday night, American Airlines particularly rolled back the hike on routes that mainly overlapped with low-cost airlines which did not participate in the increase, and on Sunday evening the rest of the legacy airlines matched the partial rollback. The scope of the rollback was about 28% of the originally increased city pairs, says FareCompqare.com.
