Conference bags are the most effective type of branded merchandise at events, according to a recent survey of event organizers by U.K.-based conference bag vendor Nexus Collections. Approximately 23% of survey respondents rated conference bags as the most effective promotional item at events, followed by pens (12.6%), conference notepads (11.5%) and badge lanyards (10.4%). The least effective promotional items at events, according to survey respondents, are sponsorship of catering events (3.7%), sponsorship of guides and programs (5.6%) and sponsorship of educational events (6.7%).
